As someone who doesn't belong to any team, or even knows anyone personally, but has still surveyed this competition from up close; I think only two rules really stand : a) Whoever has the maximum number of votes at the end, wins. b) The end justifies the means. It was clear from the beginning that some teams had employed/hired/accumulated groups of people(numbering in 40-50 easily) at one time to vote for their video; and were even voting more than once from the same id. If you really think that that is more judicious or legal than crashing the site and increasing the vote count, you are wrong. It is as much a violation of the 'rules' of this competition - because while you can say that you were 'allowed' to do multiple voting, and also vote more than once from one id; which rule says that you 'weren't' allowed to vote from a proxy server or worse, crash the site? More essentially, in a competition without any 'rules', how do you violate them? And lastly, till what point is the game fair and at what point does it suddenly become unfair? Since all such boundaries were rather ambiguous, ultimately, only one aim matters - Who wins? If Shrapnel did crash the site, though it seems like a ridiculous suggestion, I think it's a rather innovative move to achieve that aim. It was a battle between different levels of cheating. And they won. Fine, between hook and crook, they chose crook. But which team didn't? They only used greater crook. I think we should applaud them.
P.S - Were you aware that the site didn't work in many places outside Mumbai for upto 4 days at a stretch during the voting period? How do you think teams outside Mumbai should've voted then?
Brother, the comments on your vid are disabled. Nonetheless, it's an excellent video, and alongwith the Illuminati ad, the best in the draw. Sadly, this competition does not really reward quality as such. :)
